Free-of- charge medical and prophylactic examinations and legal consultations were held for IDPs living in Batumi

Free- of- charge medical and prophylactic examinations and legal consultations were conducted for IDPs from Abkhazia living in Batumi. The event was organized by the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia in the frames of the outreach program "Prophylactic Medical Examination of Internally Displaced Persons from Abkhazia".

Within the planned medical action IDPs received services of family doctor, cardiologist, neurologist, child neurologist, pediatrician, endocrinologist, ophthalmologist, gynecologist, surgeon, dermatologist, angiologist, oncologist and urologist.

Instrumental examinations were conducted: electrocardiography (abdominal cavity and thyroid gland) electrocardiography, determining glucose in the blood. Also, hepatitis C screening was conducted.

According the doctor's prescription medications were given to refugees from Abkhazia.

Together with medical exhaminations, the staff of the Justice Department of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia provided free legal consultations to all IDPs.

The Acting Chair of Government of the A/R of Abkhazia, Vakhtang Kolbaia, the Minister of Health and Social Affairs of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Zaal Mikeladze, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Affairs of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Ramaz Jincharadze, Deputy Chair of the Batumi Municipality, Tamaz Salukvadze, Minister of Health and Social Affairs of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia Ketevan Bakaradze, Chairman of IDPs Department of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Konstantine Kuchukhidze, Chairman of Justice Department of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia Igor Kopaliani,Head of Representative Office of the A/R of Abkhazia in Imereti Region, Zaza Chachava and Deputy Minister of Health and Social Affairs of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia Tengiz Kvitia attended the medical research.
