Vakhtang Kolbaia has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Georgia Shabtai Tzur

The Acting Chair of Government of the A/R of Abkhazia, Vakhtang Kolbaia has met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Georgia Shabtai Tzur.

The meeting focused on the importance of friendly relations of Georgia-Israel.

The Chairman of the Government informed the Ambassador about the situation in occupied Abkhazia. He also spoke about the problems and challenges facing the population living on both sides of the dividing line. The conversation focused on the illegal alienation of real estate in Abkhazia as a result of the conflict.

"We are equally struggling to defend property right that is the fundamental right. It does not matter whether it belongs to Georgian, Jew, Greeks or Ukrainians and its infringement is inadmissible and the unrestricted access to each owner", - stated Vakhtang Kolbaia.

The meeting also discussed prospects of deepening cooperation that aims to support the population residing in the occupied territories as well as to encourage internally displaced persons to raise their qualifications and receive quality education, as well as sharing experience in agriculture and increasing the role of the Israel government in carrying out various projects.

Participants of the meeting condemned the fact of recognition of so-called independence of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali region by Syrian regime.

Advisor to the Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Petre Kankava, and Head of the Department for Relations with International and Non Governmental Organizations of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, David Gakharia attended the meeting.
