Giorgi Jincharadze Attends Exhibition at the National Archives Pavilion

An exhibition marking the 1,700th anniversary of the adoption of Christianity as the state religion in Georgia opened at the Exhibition Pavilion of the National Archives of Georgia.

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, attended the opening together with Aliona Chkhotua, Minister of Justice and Civic Integration of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia.

The exhibition was officially opened by Georgia’s Minister of Justice, Paata Salia, and Teona Iashvili, Director General of the National Archives of Georgia.

The exhibition features photographs taken during expeditions conducted by the National Archives, documenting sites associated with the life and mission of Saint Nino in Georgia. It also presents manuscripts and historical photographs preserved in the National Archives relating to the Christianisation of Kartli.

Free Medical Screening Programme Continues for IDPs from Abkhazia

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia has launched its updated programmes for 2026. As part of the initiative, the first free medical screening event for internally displaced people from Abkhazia was held at the Chapidze Heart Center.

During the event, beneficiaries with chronic cardiovascular conditions received comprehensive cardiology services and were provided with free medication in accordance with their doctors’ prescriptions.

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, visited the clinic together with Besik Kusidi, Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia.

The Chairman observed the screening process and spoke with IDP beneficiaries and members of the clinic’s medical staff.

“We are pleased that the Ministry’s healthcare programmes are now underway and that our beneficiaries were able to receive free medical examinations today. Caring for displaced communities and ensuring their access to high-quality healthcare services remain among the Government of Abkhazia’s highest priorities,” Giorgi Jincharadze said.

With the support of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, free medical screening events for IDPs are held regularly across Georgia.

Chairman of the Government of Abkhazia Continues Meetings with Public School Teachers

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, is continuing a series of meetings with teachers from Abkhazia’s public schools.

The latest meetings were held at Abkhazia Public School No. 1 and Ilia Vekua Public School No. 11 in Zugdidi. The Chairman visited the schools together with Giorgi Dzadzamia, Minister of Education and Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia.

The discussions focused on the schools’ infrastructure challenges, opportunities to upgrade their facilities and technical resources, and measures to support teachers’ professional development. Particular attention was given to the importance of creating a modern and safe learning environment for students.

During the visits, the Chairman and the Minister presented symbolic gifts to first-grade students.

The meetings are intended to assess the needs of Abkhazia’s public schools operating in the regions and to monitor the effectiveness of the learning process.

Unified Digital Portal Launched for IDPs from Abkhazia

At the initiative of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, a unified digital portal — portal.abkhazia.gov.ge — has been launched for internally displaced people from Abkhazia. The platform was presented in Zugdidi with the support of the Ministry of Justice and Civic Integration of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia.

The portal is designed to simplify communication between displaced citizens and the institutions of the Government of Abkhazia.

It brings together the programmes and services of the Government and all its agencies in one digital space. Through the platform, IDPs can remotely access comprehensive information on healthcare, education, social support and economic programmes without unnecessary bureaucratic barriers.

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, and Aliona Chkhotua, Minister of Justice and Civic Integration, addressed the presentation. They highlighted the portal’s key features and its practical importance for displaced communities.

The event was attended by members of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia and representatives of the local authorities.

Chairman of the Government of Abkhazia Visits Socially Vulnerable Families in Martvili

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, visited Martvili Municipality, where he met with socially vulnerable internally displaced families from Abkhazia.

During the visits, the Chairman learned first-hand about the families’ living conditions, daily challenges and most urgent needs. Based on the information received, Giorgi Jincharadze pledged that the families would be provided with appropriate support and that efforts would be made to address their concerns gradually and effectively.

The Chairman emphasised that improving the social well-being of displaced communities remains one of the key priorities of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia and that support for IDP families will continue.

As part of his regional visit, Giorgi Jincharadze will also meet with internally displaced people from Abkhazia living in other municipalities across the Samegrelo–Zemo Svaneti region.

Giorgi Jincharadze Meets with Teachers from Abkhazia Public Schools in Kutaisi

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, visited Abkhazia Public Schools Nos. 5 and 6 in Kutaisi, where he met with teachers and school principals alongside Giorgi Dzadzamia, Minister of Education and Culture of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia.

The discussions focused on the key challenges facing the schools, including opportunities to improve the learning process, infrastructure needs, and the professional development of teachers. Particular attention was given to enhancing the quality of education and creating a better learning environment for students.

Giorgi Jincharadze emphasised that education remains one of the Government’s highest priorities. He noted that support for schools, the professional empowerment of teachers, and the development of modern learning conditions for students would continue to be actively pursued.

The Chairman and the Minister also toured the schools’ facilities, reviewed their equipment and infrastructure, and presented symbolic gifts to first-grade students.

Giorgi Jincharadze Meets with the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, met with Ali Kaan Orbay, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Georgia.

During the introductory meeting, the Chairman briefed the Ambassador on the work and priorities of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia. He also discussed the current situation in occupied Abkhazia and raised concerns over ongoing violations of the rights of the local population.

Giorgi Jincharadze highlighted the longstanding friendship and close partnership between Georgia and Türkiye. He thanked the Ambassador for Türkiye’s continued support and for the projects implemented over the years to assist internally displaced people from Abkhazia.

Ambassador Orbay, in turn, thanked Giorgi Jincharadze for the meeting and reaffirmed the Government of Türkiye’s firm and unwavering support for Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The parties also discussed opportunities to further strengthen cooperation across a range of areas.

Giorgi Jincharadze: “Christmas Is a Day of Hope, Love and Unity”

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, attended the Christmas Divine Liturgy at St George of Ilori Church in Tbilisi.

He was joined by Jemal Gamakharia, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, members of the Government, and deputies of the Supreme Council.

The festive service was led by Father Levan Janashia, Rector of St George of Ilori Church.

“Christmas is a day of hope, love and unity. On this special occasion, we pray for peace in Georgia, the reunification of our country, and a dignified future for every citizen. We firmly believe that through faith, unity and patience, we can build a better future,” Giorgi Jincharadze said.

Giorgi Jincharadze Meets IDP Families Living in the Samegrelo–Zemo Svaneti Region

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, visited Potskho-Etseri, where he met with internally displaced people from Abkhazia.

During the meeting, the Chairman informed the families about the Government’s decision to provide electricity vouchers worth GEL 500 to IDP households living in Potskho-Etseri during the winter season.

“Today, I visited Potskho-Etseri and met with displaced families who remain a priority for us and continue to receive our special care and attention. Each family received an electricity voucher worth GEL 500, as well as a New Year gift package. The Government of Abkhazia will further strengthen its support for these families in the future,” Giorgi Jincharadze said.

Later that day, the Chairman, together with members of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia and representatives of the local authorities, visited vulnerable IDP families from Abkhazia living across the Samegrelo–Zemo Svaneti region.

Giorgi Jincharadze extended his Christmas and New Year wishes to the families and presented them with holiday gift packages.

The visits were also attended by Davit Verava, State Representative in the Samegrelo–Zemo Svaneti region; Guba Sajaia, Mayor of Tsalenjikha Municipality; and Tsotne Shonia, Chairman of the Tsalenjikha Municipal Council.

As part of the initiative, more than 2,000 internally displaced families from Abkhazia across Georgia will receive New Year gift packages.

Outstanding IDP Athletes from Abkhazia Honoured at Annual Awards Ceremony

An awards ceremony recognising outstanding internally displaced athletes from Abkhazia was held by the Abkhazia Agency for Culture, Sports and Youth Affairs.

Ten athletes were honoured for their achievements and for representing Georgia with distinction at both national and international competitions.

A special commission named the following athletes as this year’s top performers:

The ceremony was attended by Georgia’s Minister of Sports, Shalva Gogoladze, members of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, deputies of the Supreme Council, and representatives of the sports community.

The annual awards ceremony celebrates the achievements of IDP athletes from Abkhazia and recognises their contribution to Georgian sport.

Giorgi Jincharadze Delivers New Year Gifts to IDP Families in Samtskhe-Javakheti

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, together with the Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from Abkhazia, visited vulnerable families displaced from Abkhazia and currently residing in Akhaltsikhe.

During the visit, they extended their Christmas and New Year wishes to the families and presented them with holiday gift packages.

“We visited displaced families in person to congratulate them on Christmas and the New Year and to share the festive spirit with them. I would like to wish all citizens of Georgia, and especially our displaced communities, good health, happiness and, above all, the peaceful reunification of our country,” Giorgi Jincharadze said.

The nationwide distribution of New Year gift packages is being carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia.

New Year Gift Packages Distributed to IDP Families from Abkhazia Living in Tbilisi

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, joined the distribution of New Year gift packages to internally displaced families from Abkhazia living in Tbilisi’s Didube district.

The Chairman was accompanied by Deputy Chairman Anzor Margiani and Davit Patsatsia, Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories of Abkhazia.

Giorgi Jincharadze extended his Christmas and New Year wishes to the families and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to continuing social support programmes aimed at improving the well-being of the displaced community.

As part of its holiday initiative, the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia will provide New Year gift packages to more than 2,000 socially vulnerable and large IDP families from Abkhazia across Georgia. The programme is designed to offer additional support to families during the festive season.

The nationwide distribution is being carried out at the initiative of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, organised by the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories of Abkhazia, with the support of Tbilisi City Hall.

Giorgi Jincharadze Presents Tablet Computers to High-Achieving Students of Abkhazia’s Public Schools

Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, presented tablet computers to high-achieving students of Abkhazia’s public schools in order to facilitate their access to modern technologies and support the educational process.

Together with Giorgi Dzadzamia, Minister of Education and Culture of Abkhazia, the Chairman met the students at the Government of Abkhazia, congratulated them on the upcoming Christmas and New Year holidays, and spoke about supporting education and strengthening the role of young people in various initiatives.

“We met with successful students from Abkhazia’s public schools who have demonstrated high academic achievement. We wanted to give them presents ahead of the New Year, and therefore presented them with tablets. Through this gesture, we expressed the support of the Government of Abkhazia and the Ministry of Education and Culture of Abkhazia,” Giorgi Jincharadze stated.

Teachers and principals of Abkhazia’s public schools also attended the meeting.

At the initiative of the Chairman of the Government of Abkhazia, computer equipment was presented to 15 high-achieving students from Abkhazia’s public schools across Georgia.

Ministry of Justice and Civil Integration of Abkhazia Presents Its 2025 Activity Report

Aliona Chkhotua, Minister of Justice and Civil Integration of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, presented the Ministry’s 2025 activity report.

In her presentation, the Minister reviewed the key activities carried out by the Ministry during the year. She also highlighted the Government’s priority plans in the areas of civil integration and peace policy.

Particular emphasis was placed on strengthening youth policy and the importance of actively involving young people in these processes. The establishment of a Youth Advisory Council within the Ministry was also announced.

Following the presentation, Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, delivered welcoming remarks. He positively assessed the Ministry’s report and spoke about the need to strengthen youth participation in the reconciliation process.

The event also featured the presentation of the unified electronic portal of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia. Operating under a one-stop-shop principle, the portal brings together the programs and services of the Government of Abkhazia and aims to simplify access to information and increase citizens’ participation in government initiatives.

The event was attended by representatives of Georgia’s executive authorities, members of the Government of Abkhazia, deputies of the Supreme Council, and representatives of non-governmental organizations.

Giorgi Jincharadze Attends 2025 Best Athlete Awards Ceremony

The 2025 Best Athlete Awards Ceremony, organized by the Ministry of Sport of Georgia, was held with the attendance of Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia.

Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze addressed the ceremony, expressed special gratitude to the athletes, and presented the award for Best Male Athlete of the Year to fencer Sandro Bazadze.

President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili, Chairman of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili, and Minister of Sport Shalva Gogoladze also spoke about the athletes’ historic achievements and wished them continued success.

Giorgi Kaldani, an internally displaced person from Abkhazia, was named Best Male Para-Athlete of 2025.

Awards were also presented in the following categories:
