Vakhtang Kolbaia: “Our duty is to bequeath the future generations Georgia, our country that is united and indivisible”

25 years have passed since the beginning of armed conflict in Abkhazia. Tens of thousands of civilians and soldiers have been killed by military confrontation and three hundred thousand people have become displaced. 25 years have passed since the launch of Abkhazian war. Military conflict in Abkhazia started on 14 August. Regarding this tragic date the Acting Chair of Government of the A/R of Abkhazia, Vakhtang Kolbaia, Chairman of the Supreme Council of the A/R of Abkhazia, Elguja Gvazava, members of Government of the A/R of Abkhazia and Deputies of the Supreme Council of the A/R of Abkhazia laid a wreath at the memorial and once again paid tribute to the memory of the heroes fallen for the territorial integrity.

In 2016, with the initiative of Vakhtang Kolbaia, Acting Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, is launched  Dimitri (Arzakan) Emukvari and Jiuli Shartava Scholarships, which will be awarded to the bachelor's and master's students of the science field of politics, specially successful and working on Abkhazian issues. Students are also required to have high academic qualifications, scientific publishing, scientific conferences and social activity.

Chairman of the Supreme Council of the A/R of Abkhazia, Elguja Gvazava, and Minister of Health and Social Affairs of the A/R of Abkhazia, Ketevan Bakaradze, together with the members of Government of the A/R of Abkhazia and Deputies of the Supreme Council of the A/R of Abkhazia laid a wreath at the Mukhatgverdi Brother's Cemetery and paid tribute to the memory of those killed in the 2008 August war.
